5"/51 Caliber Gun Fastener

In early 2020, our staff began removing the nuts and bolts that mount Battleship Texas’s six 5-inch guns to her deck so they could be removed for restoration in the dry dock. These nuts were put in place when the guns were moved to main deck in 1926 and never left the ship. Each nut is approximately 2-3/4” wide (at the flats) by 1-1/2” tall and stamped with “USS TEXAS”
