On June 15th, 1944, Battleship TEXAS moves into position to provide supporting fire to 1st US Army troops in Carentan, France. Since the targets assigned were more than 20,000 yards out, TEXAS began putting on a 2 degree list by flooding the starboard torpedo blisters to achieve the elevation needed to complete that mission.
